Minister of Foreign Trade, Tourism and Investment, Eduardo Armani, along with the Undersecretary of Tourism and Protected Areas, Florence Popayan received Wednesday in Rawson representatives of some segments of the tourism sector in Puerto Marin, who filed a brief with several proposals to relieve the contingency created by volcanic ash and lack of air connectivity in the area.
During the meeting discussed specifically some of the points at which the provincial government has already begun to respond by reaffirming the commitment to accompany all sectors to overcome this difficult situation.
It also discussed other proposals, some of this municipal character, plus the provincial tax exemptions and reduced price tickets to natural areas, among others.
After the meeting, it was established that the issues will be further developed through the Joint Committee Virch-Valdés, where all public and private actors, and also agreed on a meeting in Puerto Marin to work on future communication and promotion thinking of returning to normal destination.
Sectors related to tourism that participated in the meeting were the agencies, tourist transport, guides and representatives of the hostels in Puerto Marin.
Importantly also, this Thursday will be held at Rawson, another meeting of the Joint Committee on Tourism, responsible for monitoring the status of the sector. The meeting will be held at 10 am in the boardroom of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Tourism and Investment.
